Hunking Open House 2025

Based on feedback and information gathered through our family engagement survey last year, we have made some changes designed to create a more positive and engaging experience for families, staff, and students.

Open House will now include three key components:

  • A Trade Show highlighting Clubs, Sports, Extracurricular Opportunities, Specials, Technology, and more!
  • Dedicated time with Administrators
  • Time spent in Classrooms with teachers

We believe this structure will allow families to connect more meaningfully with our school community and showcase the many opportunities available to our students.

Here are some other key details to be aware of:

Open House will run from 5:00pm-6:30pm

Families of Grades 1, 2, 5, & 6 will begin in grade level wings for administrator presentations and classroom visits (grades 1 & 2 on 1st floor down in grade 1 area AND grades 5 & 6 on 1st floor in 6th grade wing)

Families of Grades 3, 4, 7, & 8 will begin in the Trade Show (Gym)

For all Kindergarten families, you are more than welcome to attend the open house and explore the trade show, but please understand that class assignments will not be complete until kindergarten screenings are finished, so there will not be classroom visits until the “Meet the Teacher” event on Friday, August 29th at 9am.

At 5:45pm the grades listed above will switch areas with grades 1, 2, 5, & 6 reporting to the Trade show in the gym. Grades 3, 4, 7, & 8 will report to grade level wings for presentations and classroom visits (grades 3 & 4 on the 2nd floor in the 3rd grade wing AND grades 7 & 8 on the 3rd floor in 8th grade wing).

-Please note that parking is going to be very difficult for this event, so we are encouraging as many of you that can walk and carpool to please do so. Feel free to park in the lower and upper school lots, including the gravel lot near the fire station. You can also park in the surrounding neighborhoods and walk down to the school. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and support in making sure that we are all respectful and help this event run smoothly.

-This event will provide opportunities for families to connect with each other on a classroom and entire grade level on that evening and moving forward throughout the 2025-2026 school year.

Please note that while this event will allow families to see & meet their student’s teachers, that the 90 minutes allotted for the event is not the time to connect on a more personal level as teachers need the time to go over general classroom and grade level expectations and want to be fair and equitable to all. Alternative opportunities can be arranged. We greatly appreciate your respect and cooperation with this.

We are looking forward to a wonderful evening where families can learn, connect, and celebrate all the great things happening at our school. Thank you in advance for your enthusiasm, cooperation, and support in making this event a success!

See you all on Monday evening at 5:00pm!
