THEME OF THE MONTH: The theme for our first month is KINDNESS. The definition of kindness is simply being friendly, generous, and considerate. It is part of the golden rule: treat others the way that you want to be treated. Kindness is the quality of being caring and helpful. We hope that everyone in the Hunking community will embrace this theme with us, and jumpstart an amazing school year. Staff will be on the lookout over the next month for the students that most personify this theme!

The LOST AND FOUND is overflowing with items. If your child is missing something please have them check the lost and found prior to Tuesday as it will all be donated at that time. Water bottles and lunch boxes that have been found are in the cafe on a shelf. Clothing is in the boy’s locker room and there is a sign outside to indicate where the lost and found is.

National Head Lice Prevention Month is celebrated in September. The National Pediculosis Association (NPA) sponsors the campaign to educate people on the importance of early detection and routine screening for head lice. Here are some things to know about head lice: Head lice are a common problem worldwide, especially in children ages 3–12. Head lice are most often found on the scalp, behind the ears, and at the back of the neck. Nits, or head lice eggs, are hard to see, but they are often white or yellow. In some cases, nits can be the same color as the person’s hair. If you or your child may have been exposed to lice, the entire family should be screened. For more information, please click the link below

Centers for Disease Control (CDC) https://www.cdc.gov/lice/about/head-lice.html
