Bobcat Bulletin 1/5/24

HUNKING THEME OF THE MONTH: We are embracing the theme of ACCOUNTABILITY throughout the month of January. Accountability is the act or condition of being responsible. Accountability is the acceptance of responsibility for honest and ethical conduct toward others. Finally it is an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one’s own actions. Staff will be on the look out this month for students who are holding themselves accountable for their own goals and actions.

With each chapter completed they are expected to journal in a specific format found on Google Classroom, please check if their homework is completed!  In Math we have moved onto linear equations.  Students need their math notebooks as we are creating mathematical dictionaries with lots of new vocabulary.  Look for Exit Tickets and Recaps at home to see what they are learning and that they are responsible for their nightly homework.  In science we are starting our Chemistry unit which is fun but definitely challenging so encourage them to read their class notes as much as possible. Some of the topics will be sensitive so if your child has any questions please have them come and talk to us.

ML News: Wishing all our ML families a Happy New Year!

Each year, students in English learner programs take the ACCESS for ELLs language proficiency test. The test measures academic English language proficiency for students learning English in our school and throughout our state. The students are tested in the 4 language domains (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing)

Teachers in our school use this information to help them make decisions about instruction for your child. Teachers also use these test scores to monitor the progress your child makes toward English proficiency.

Testing will begin the week of January 8th, Please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep, charges their chromebook, and eats a healthy breakfast to help keep your child focused during the test.
