SAVE THE DATE! The Grade 8 promotion ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 14. It will be held outside on the soccer field. The promotion dance will be held in the gym immediately following the promotion ceremony. Stay tuned for more details.

Vision screenings have started. If your child is referred you will receive a referral to follow up with your child’s provider. 

There will be several events students will have an opportunity to participate in during the last two months of school, especially our eighth graders. Events include field trips, grade level activities during the school day, and the promotion dance. Students must be in good standing in order to participate. Please see the guidelines below:

  • Students who receive any type of suspension beginning 4/25 are prohibited from attending the next school event. 
  • Students who are suspended more than 1 time beginning on 4/25 are prohibited from attending any school event for the remainder of the year. 
  • Students who do not attend school on the day of an event, cannot attend. 
  • Students who receive 3 after school detentions beginning on 4/25 are prohibited from the next school event. 
  • Students who receive 5 after school detentions beginning on 4/25 are prohibited from attending any school event for the remainder of the year.
  • If a student has an issue during a school event that causes them to be disciplined in any way, it prohibits them from attending AT LEAST the next school event, possibly more, depending on the severity of the offense. 

Guidelines for after school events:

  • Cannot bring bags of any kind
  • No outside food or drink to be allowed
  • Must have ticket to attend event
  • Non Hunking students are not allowed to attend the event
  • If a student leaves they are not allowed to return

ATHLETICS

Congratulations to the girls’ volleyball team for an undefeated season culminating in a win over Consentino in the finals. 

The boys’ volleyball team had an outstanding season themselves competing against Whittier in the finals. Great job!

April 27th is Administrative Professionals Day. Take a moment to thank our amazing office staff ~ Ms. Dorr, Ms. MacRae and Ms. Polanco.

PTO NEWS

In honor of Earth Day (April 22), the PTO is asking the Hunking community to join them for a clean up day! Join them on April 30th from 9am to 12pm to do some weeding, pick up litter, and help make our school sparkle! 

The next PTO meeting will be held on 5/3 at 6:30PM in the Hunking library. Childcare will be provided.

There will be a restaurant fundraiser at G’s on April 27.

CHROMEBOOKS

Please make sure your student comes to school every day with a charged Chromebook.

You have the opportunity to protect the Chromebook issued to your student by paying a Device Waiver Fee. This $20 fee will cover a single incident of damage or repair for the school year. It will not cover lost equipment. If the annual optional Damage Waiver Fee is not purchased, the typical cost of repairing components is as follows, and an invoice would be sent to the family:

  • Charger – $39
  • LCD Screen – $80
  • Top Cover (keyboard, trackpad, etc.) – $139
  • Device Replacement (when damage to the device is unrepairable) – $199
