Hunking's 1st Bobcat Bulletin (Summer addition)

Good Afternoon Hunking Families!!

I hope that you are all having a wonderful summer. It is hard to believe we are less than a few weeks away from the start of the school year, but we are working hard to prepare and have everything ready!! 

Below you will find some important dates and information so that you can be prepared for the start:

-Open House will be on Tuesday, September 1st, from 4:00-6:00pm 

-Grades 1-4: 4-5pm

-Grade 5: 4:30-5:30pm

-Grades 6-8: 5-6pm

All families will begin in the cafeteria for approximately 15-20 minutes for a presentation from the Principal

Families will then disperse to their student’s grade level area to hear from their teacher/team. 

Finally, we have brought back the “Trade Show” which will be happening throughout the 1st floor main hallway to learn more about clubs/sports offered at Hunking, “meet the specialists”, curriculum information, technology support, etc. The trade show can be accessed throughout the entirety of the Open House (4-6pm) when you are not in the presentation and/or meeting your teacher/team. 

-The 1st day of school for grades 1-8 is Wednesday, September 2nd. 

-For planning purposes students can begin being dropped off at 8:00am. 

 -Our school day starts promptly at 8:30am

-Also for planning purposes, dismissal is at 2:45pm (please ensure arrangements are made for students to be picked up on time)

CLASS ASSIGNMENTS: 

-All class assignments will be available to view beginning on Friday, August 21st (please be advised that our system takes up to 24-72 hours to sync) via the student/parent portal. If you are having any trouble accessing the Portal, please visit our Technology At Home website for more information.

-For those families looking for bus information, please be patient as all bus routes/assignments & times will be shared directly by the transportation department. Please reach out directly to transportation with any specific questions: https://www.haverhill-ps.org/transportation

KINDERGARTEN:

-Mark your calendars, for our 5th Annual Block Party, which we will host on Thursday, September 24th from 5:00-7:00pm (more information and details will follow once the school year begins). 

-Hunking’s best and biggest fundraising event of our school year, The 2nd Fun-Run, through our partnership with Boosterthon and the PTO will take place on Wednesday, September 30th (more information/details will follow once the school year begins).
