OPEN HOUSE & FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL REMINDERS
Hello Everyone!
We are only a few short days away from the start of our 2026-2027 School Year! It is hard to believe!
I wanted to reach out with just a couple of quick reminders which you will find below. You can also refer back to my communication on August 13th for additional information including supply lists, class assignment information, upcoming events, etc.
OPEN HOUSE:
-Open House will be on Tuesday, September 1st, from 4:00-6:00pm
-Grades 1-4: 4-5pm
-Grade 5: 4:30-5:30pm
-Grades 6-8: 5-6pm
All families will begin in the cafeteria for approximately 15-20 minutes for a presentation from the Principal. Families will then disperse to their student’s grade level area to hear from their teacher/team. Finally, we have brought back the “Trade Show” which will be happening in the gym to learn more about clubs/sports offered at Hunking, “meet the specialists”, curriculum information, technology support, etc. The trade show can be accessed throughout the entirety of the Open House (4-6pm) when you are not in the presentation and/or meeting your teacher/team. Please be advised that Tuesday is also a voting day, so the building will be open to the public.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL:
-The 1st day of school for grades 1-8 is Wednesday, September 2nd.
-For planning purposes students can begin being dropped off at 8:00am.
-Our school day starts promptly at 8:30am
-Also for planning purposes, dismissal is at 2:45pm (please ensure arrangements are made for students to be picked up on time)

-The 1st day of Kindergarten is Wednesday, September 9th.
